Glass
Glass is an active area of exploration for the studio, most directly within the CHRONOS Floor Lamp. The interest is in heating, shaping and forming glass beyond conventional flat applications, into fluid and biomorphic geometries that respond to the object and its lighting condition.
In a lighting object the glass is both material and instrument: the form it takes decides how light leaves the piece. The exploration is documented as it develops, and this entry grows with the lamp.
- Rigid and flat as supplied; fluid once heated. The studio's interest is in the state between the two, where glass can be shaped into forms that respond to light.
