These are the materials we are working with now, and what we have learned so far about how each one behaves and how it is worked.
A356 AluminiumA casting alloy. It fills complex moulds, holds its shape under load, and is light for a metal, which is why the Chronos Chair's connecting vein is cast in it.Ebonized White OakThe oak is not painted or stained black. A solution made from vinegar and steel wool reacts with the tannin in the wood and the timber itself darkens, so the grain and texture stay visible.GlassFlat and rigid as it arrives; workable once heated. We are interested in what it can become between those two states.
