Nickel-Silver Alloy

The studio's principal metal. Nickel-silver — a copper alloy despite the name — was chosen for its pale, slightly warm reflectivity, which photographs as silver but reads warmer in person.

Its shrinkage behaviour dictates much of the studio's formal language: continuous curved paths cool evenly, sharp interior corners crack. The material is, in effect, a standing instruction to avoid corners.
