Polished Brass
Brass entered the archive as an edition variant of forms first proven in nickel-silver, and with Xeno Arm Chair became a primary material in its own right. Its role is temperature: the same geometry that reads skeletal in silver reads botanical in gold.
Because brass keeps time — darkening measurably within a decade — brass editions are documented on delivery and again at each service, building a record of how the surface ages in its owner's climate.
- Forgiving in the pour, soft in the finish. Scratches record easily and oxidises toward umber unless waxed; the studio treats this drift as part of the work.
- Cast in the same sectional moulds as MT-01; edition variants only.
- Polished, then microcrystalline waxed. Owners are advised, not obliged, to renew the wax.
- Sourced as certified scrap and re-melted; each pour is batch-logged.
